After soul sister Macy Gray, with whom he recorded an album, the ever-inventive saxophonist brings us a brand new body of work inspired by the slam poetry of Saul Williams. DAVID MURRAY tenor saxophone, bass clarinett, ORIN EVANS piano, JARIBU SHAHID bass, NASHEET WAITS drums, SAUL WILLIAMS voice He appears with the Infinity Quartet, named after his early years at the Infinity loft-studio in New York, and with Saul Williams himself. A great choice: over the past fifteen years, the star of the independent film Slam has been standing out among rappers and slam poets with the quality of his writing and the intensity of his performances. His punch lines make him a unique performer - a remarkable poet with a powerful rap-soul voice. In David Murray, who previously worked with writers Amiri Baraka and Ishmael Reed, Williams has found an ideal partner. A match made in heaven.

Lucky Peterson, tribute to Jimmy Smith Lucky Peterson (organ, lyric) Nicolas Fomer (trumpet) Kekyn Crapp (guitar) Ahmad Compaoré (drums) Twelve years after the death of Jimmy Smith, Lucky Peterson, pays a tribute to the master of the Hammond organ. My father brought me up on blues before I could even walk, and I played the organ before having learnt to speak.Lucky Peterson, The precocious, classy little baby's bottle was thrown into music as soon as he was born.To this die-hard blues man, who is the guardian of the flame, he was able to add a well-chosen dose of groove. There is no doubt that it was a suitable way to honour Jimmy Smith, who was a reference in the realm of jazz soul and with whom he had exchanged in his youth. Finally this dive into history reminds us how much the hymns of the 1950's and 1960's remain incredibly sensual, enough to encourage the choir of a church to dance... Considered as being part of the most brilliant and renowned Cuban musicians of their generation, this band of 7 had the excellent idea of composing an album entitled Y que !? (So What) , nine pieces which reflect the diversity of influences and rhythms of El Comité. Afrobeat, funk, Latin jazz, ballades a Cuban groove Siglo 21 to put between all ears, impressive compositions, revivals marked El Comité, always stamped with the fluidity and energy which characterises this group. Despite their youth, their 15 or 20 years on the international stage for most of them, gives a veritable maturity to this album. The harmonies and thematic structures are an ample illustration. And finally, on stage, it is always a real pleasure to see El Comité developing where their overflowing energy and musical generosity rapidly becomes contagious.
