The Rolex Giraglia is one of the most famous offshore Mediterranean races in the yachting calendar. It has been held annually since 1953 and has been conceived to promote friendship between France and Italy, with 2019 celebrating the 67th edition. The action starts in the historic port of St Tropez with three days of inshore racing. Then the fleet will embark on a 243-nautical mile offshore race to Genoa, Italy via the Giraglia, a rocky outcrop off the northern tip of Corsica to then finish in its traditional destination, Genoa.

The Fastnet Race takes place every two years over a course of 608 nautical miles and its named after the Fastnet Rock, in the south of Ireland, which the race course rounds. From its inception in 1925, the race has proven highly influential in the growth of offshore racing, and remains the ultimate test of both inshore and offshore sailing skills. Starting from Cowes and finishing in Plymouth, due to the succession of low pressure systems typical of the English Channel, the Rolex Fastnet Race is considered a challenging race, unquestionably one of the greatest events in the international yachting calendar.
