Mike Rosenberg's crafted some of the very best observational songwriting of the year with his lovely new album, All the Little Lights. It's a lush, acoustic collection he's complemented with the perfect epithet in Passenger. The lyrics and the stories, explains the young, Brighton-born-and-bred musician, are told from the perspective of a passenger just watching the world go by. For his stirring session in our music room, Mike spun tales of a lonely afternoon on a riverbank in Glasgow Scotland (Feather On the Clyde), the hard appreciation that spawns only in the wake of personal loss (Let Her Go) and a reminder that the present moment is everything (Life's for the Living). It's an emotional performance; a journey you'll be grateful to be a passenger aboard.

A brand new show that brings a veteran artist at his best! The talented artist, who became famous in the group Take That, lacks presentations, but he himself begins his show by saying: Let me resubmit .... Robbie Williams has the ability to reinvent himself, exhibiting so much energy that he seems to be a rookie artist. Already in the 40s band of pop music, Robbie is more than an artist consecrated worldwide, is a reference with hits present in the best lists of consecrated DJs. This show at the Roundhouse coincided with the announcement of their 11th solo album, Heavy Entertainment Show, just released. The new album's title reflects Williams' performance as energy-dense as his 11-member big band, including his hits partner Guy Chambers on the piano. A formidable 90 minute pop odyssey. Mixing tracks from his Take That era, old or new, his songs allow him to reclaim his throne from an artist who dominates the stage - in fact, there is no one in pop music who combines his monumental energy with music Touching. A magical moment can be perceived in A Better Man, only with the guitar on stage; Proof that he is an artist that goes beyond the scenery.

Birmingham in the late 1960s was an industrial city, packed with music groups. At its height, the New Musical Express had reported 500 on its bustling circuit and from two of these groups, Black Sabbath was formed. The Beatles would be a key influence for Ozzy, but bassist Geezer Butler also shaped Ozzys work, through his lyrics After signing to Vertigo Records in 1970, the four piece used their distinctive sound to full effect for their self-titled debut album, Black Sabbath. Black Sabbath became a commercial success, entering the UK top 10 and the US charts. In its first year it sold one million copies. Keen to build on the success, the band entered the studio just four months after releasing their debut. The title track, Paranoid, would lead the new album. Featuring archive material, music videos “PARANOID” “EVIL WOMAN” and, exclusive insights from music critics and journalists JOHN AIZLEWOOD (Evening Standard), DANIELLE PERRY (XFM), WILL HODGKINSON (The Times) & CAMILLA PIA (BBC Radio 6).

Abba are one of Swedens biggest exports and the worlds biggest pop act. With sales estimated at 400 million, as a group they are second only the Beatles. However, the pop music that will be remembered for generations to come grew out of a very different sound. Abba entered the Eurovision heats. They succeeded and performed the song Waterloo in the 1974 contest. The band entered superstar status with the 1976 release of their first greatest hits. The token new song on the record was Fernando. It remains Abbas biggest-selling single to date, with sales of 10 million copies. The late 1970s was a period of unstoppable success for Abba. The 1976 album Arrival, showcased the finely-honed skill of pop song-writing and its lead single, Dancing Queen, was a prime example of that. Featuring archive material, music videos “DANCING QUEEN” “MAMA MIA ABBA” and, exclusive insights from music critics and journalists JOHN AIZLEWOOD (Evening Standard), DANIELLE PERRY (XFM), WILL HODGKINSON (The Times) & CAMILLA PIA (BBC Radio 6).

It's been a crazy year for Donald Glover, but nothing has been more blazing than his career as rapper Childish Gambino. The project, born of a Wu-Tang name generator, is full of witty, rambunctious energy, as he effortlessly demonstrates in his session at Rockwood Music Hall. Along with collaborator and musical guru Ludwig Gransson on electric guitar, Gambino rips through tracks from his wildly popular EP as well as the lead single from his debut album Camp (out now on Glassnote Records). From introspection to love to pop culture and punny metaphors, Gambino runs an impressive lyrical gammit, one that inspires all the vital decision making organs.

This installment of the Classic Albums series follows the making of two Grateful Dead albums, the fiercely experimental Anthem of the Sun and the understated masterwork American Beauty, which spawned melodic gems like Sugar Magnolia and Ripple. Between the archival scenes and contemporary interviews with band members, the program shows a band making seismic in roads in pop music and five young guys coming to terms with artistry, mortality, and, yes, the pursuit of happiness. There is priceless footage of Neal Cassady driving Ken Kesey's bus and of the Dead, surrounded by martini sipping hipsters, on Playboy After Dark. The best scenes involve band members talking about specific songs (you will never hear Phil Lesh's Box of Rain again without thinking of it as a gift to his dying father) or deconstructing a tune by playing each track separately. Intimate and surprisingly cohesive, Anthem to Beauty is a rare glimpse into how the Dead's magic was made.
