The Torrevieja Euromarina Optimist International Trophy is a scoring regatta for the Optimist Excellence Cup, the international event that this year has achieved a record participation with 406 sailors from 27 countries. High level sailing meets in Torrevieja, which hosts the third round of the Optimist Excellence Cup (OEC) 2021-2022 after its previous stops in Vigo and El Puerto de Santa María. With four days of competition and a total of 12 races planned, we can expect an excellent competition to unwind in Torrevieja, Spain. Collin Martins is a French chef with only one goal in mind: surfing. His passion started when he was just 3 years old. This was when his parents got him on a surfboard for the first time in Cap Ferret. It often starts like this. However, Collins course and his passion for surfing took a really atypical and unique turn.Looking for the best waves around the world, he decides to step into the unknown in 2017 and become autonomous living on a sailboat. From here he patiently studies the weather conditions, direction of the swell and tides to predict where the best waves will appear in order to surf them. The GC32 Racing Tour is back! The World Sailing foiling catamaran circuit has returned as the world recovers from COVID, and both teams and organizers have been keen to return to racing onboard their state-of-the-art flying catamarans. After 18 months of no racing and cancelled events, the anticipation going into the first event in Lagos, Portugal is huge!After a highly competitive, spectacular 2019 season the GC32 foiling cats are back on the racecourse. In 2021, the ultra-high performance one-design catamarans will visit 3 top venues for 4 events, each location selected specially to provide conditions ideal for the nimble GC32s to fly across the water at 30+ knot speeds.So, lets travel to Lagos, in southern Portugal's Algarve region to witness the first GC32 Racing Tour event for 2021, Lagos Cup 1.
