The new SailGP is re-defining the sport of sailing and puts the fan at the centre of the sport. The racing takes place in some of the worlds most iconic city waterfronts, where athletes from rival nations will race head-to-head on the newly redefined F50 wingsailed catamarans, which fly above the water on wave-piercing hydrofoils at speeds of over 50 knots. The Rolex Middle Sea Race was co-founded in 1968 by the Royal Malta Yacht Club and the Royal Ocean Racing Club and starts and finishes in Malta. It takes place in October and takes the fleet in anti-clockwise around Sicily, Italy along 606 nautical mile journey, with sights that include the Strait of Messina, the azure clear waters of Sicily and the ultimate highlight, the active volcano of Stromboli. Tactically demanding, with famously changeable weather conditions, this is a classic test of seamanship.

Hello and welcome to the 2019 GC32 Racing Tour. For its sixth season, the ultra-high performance one design catamarans, will once again visit five top venues over the next few months. Each location selected especially for its conditions - stable winds and flat waters - ideal for the nimble GC32s to fly across the water at 30+ knots. For a third year, the Tour starts in Italy, but this time in Villasimius on the southeastern-most tip of Sardinia. This is the third time that the GC32 Racing Tour will have visited this popular holiday destination, renowned for its azure waters, exotic marine life and pink flamingos. Racing at the GC32 Villasimius Cup takes place off the Marina di Villasimius near the protected maritime area of Capo Carbonara.

This double-handed transatlantic race founded in 1992 has sailors compete on identical boats: the Figaro Bénéteau 3. For 2 weeks, the racing village of the walled city becomes a meeting ground for admiring crowds and sea-hungry sailors intent on victory.Going from Concarneau, stopping by the Canary Island of La Palma and going all the way to Saint-Barthélemy, this race covers 3890 miles and sailors Thomas Ruyant and Adrien Hardy hold the record on 18 days, 11 hours, 48 minutes and 22 seconds.La Transat AG2R La Mondiale is consider one of the toughest in sailing for its extreme conditions and endurance by participants. Olympic heroes, Americas Cup winners, Volvo Ocean Race champions and some of sailings most capped World Champions gathered in Lagos, in Portugals Algarve for the 2019 GC32 World Championship.Taking place with the support of the City of Lagos, Marina de Lagos and Sopromar, this years GC32 World Championship was the second event of the 2019 GC32 Racing Tour, following on from last months GC32 Villasimius Cup. Racing off Lagos takes place in the Atlantic ocean, but the waters here are protected by Cape St Vincent, the most southwestern tip of Europe, which is just 10km away. With sea breeze conditions and flat waters, the GC32 World Championships offered  perfect foiling conditions. And with the local organisers familiar with the GC32s it was set to be one of the best events of 2019.

For its third event, the Tour was once again invited to visit Palma to be part of the 38th Copa del Rey MAPFRE, the Mediterraneans most prestigious multi-class regatta. While the other Tour events are usually stand-alone, for GC32s exclusively, in Palma the state of the art foiling catamarans get to showcase themselves to the cream of international monohull racing fleets. What is more, some of the worlds top sailors chose to sail the GC32 foiling catamarans due to the great speeds that they achieve. Ideal foiling conditions for exciting racing on the Bay of Palma helped the teams give their best. Run by the Real Club Náutico de Palma from its magnificent clubhouse and with its welcoming hospitality plus many of the Spanish royal family competing, this is one of the most popular events with the GC32 teams.

After nearly two months at sea, which now seems like lifetimes compounded by the suffering and challenge of the passage. The three are closing out their trip home and saving the best for last. Shocked by what seems to be death island, the three uncover shark hunters and in their last village before departure battle to resupply with the essentials of gas and water with the last pennies on the boat. It starts from Sydney Harbour and the 628 nautical mile sailing adventure full of drama, spectacle and camaraderie which is watched by hundreds of thousands of festive spectators, is one of the sports iconic sights.

Olympic heroes, Americas Cup winners, Volvo Ocean Race champions and some of sailings most capped World Champions gathered in Lagos, in Portugals Algarve for the 2019 GC32 World Championship.Taking place with the support of the City of Lagos, Marina de Lagos and Sopromar, this years GC32 World Championship was the second event of the 2019 GC32 Racing Tour, following on from last months GC32 Villasimius Cup. Racing off Lagos takes place in the Atlantic ocean, but the waters here are protected by Cape St Vincent, the most southwestern tip of Europe, which is just 10km away. With sea breeze conditions and flat waters, the GC32 World Championships offered  perfect foiling conditions. And with the local organisers familiar with the GC32s it was set to be one of the best events of 2019.

For its third event, the Tour was once again invited to visit Palma to be part of the 38th Copa del Rey MAPFRE, the Mediterraneans most prestigious multi-class regatta. While the other Tour events are usually stand-alone, for GC32s exclusively, in Palma the state of the art foiling catamarans get to showcase themselves to the cream of international monohull racing fleets. What is more, some of the worlds top sailors chose to sail the GC32 foiling catamarans due to the great speeds that they achieve. Ideal foiling conditions for exciting racing on the Bay of Palma helped the teams give their best. Run by the Real Club Náutico de Palma from its magnificent clubhouse and with its welcoming hospitality plus many of the Spanish royal family competing, this is one of the most popular events with the GC32 teams.

Competition does not look disappointing today and we are in for a blast of adrenaline in this round of the challenge.
