Live In Germany was filmed at the Grugahalle in Essen, Germany for the Rockpalast TV series. Hot on the heels of their classic Deguello album (it features 9 of the 10 songs from it) the show finds ZZ Top before sequencers and synthesizers epitomising their lil' ol' blues band from Texas nickname. Complimented by tracks drawn predominantly from their Tres Hombres and Fandango! albums this is a true best of ZZ Top in the seventies.

Interpol is an American rock band from Manhattan, New York,[2] formed in 1997. Their original line-up consisted of Paul Banks, Daniel Kessler, Carlos Dengler and Greg Drudy.

It's been a crazy year for Donald Glover, but nothing has been more blazing than his career as rapper Childish Gambino. The project, born of a Wu-Tang name generator, is full of witty, rambunctious energy, as he effortlessly demonstrates in his session at Rockwood Music Hall. Along with collaborator and musical guru Ludwig Gransson on electric guitar, Gambino rips through tracks from his wildly popular EP as well as the lead single from his debut album Camp (out now on Glassnote Records). From introspection to love to pop culture and punny metaphors, Gambino runs an impressive lyrical gammit, one that inspires all the vital decision making organs.

And as with other hugely successful rock bands, it was the lead singer who was in charge of pumping up the crowd, with Julian Casablancas yelling things like “D.C., lets rock!” and “Whats up, D.C.?!” The crowd went wild, but to Casablancas, it was clearly a joke. He was playing a role and said as much outright at the beginning of the show, but that didnt stop the crowd, hungry for more entertainment, from taking him seriously.

However, the pop music that will be remembered for generations to come grew out of a very different sound. Abba entered the Eurovision heats. They succeeded and performed the song Waterloo in the 1974 contest. The band entered superstar status with the 1976 release of their first greatest hits. The token new song on the record was Fernando. It remains Abbas biggest-selling single to date, with sales of 10 million copies. The late 1970s was a period of unstoppable success for Abba. The 1976 album Arrival, showcased the finely-honed skill of pop song-writing and its lead single, Dancing Queen, was a prime example of that.
